Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 12-20 years of related experience in the financial accounting group of a financial services company.
• Big Four public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, and U.S. GAAP.
• Solid understanding of consolidation, legal entity accounting, corporate accounting, financial statement presentation, disclosures, and internal controls.
• A trusted advisor who demonstrates ownership, operates independently, and exercises sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Direct the preparation, review, and delivery of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, overseeing reporting schedules and management review deadlines.
• Manage annual audit and periodic financial review processes, coordinating supporting documentation, audit requests, issue resolution, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Present consolidated financial results and significant business transactions to senior leadership, providing analysis of material impacts on financial performance.
• Supervise regulatory reporting, external disclosures, and financing-related documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable reporting requirements.
• Oversee controllership activities for multiple legal entities, including month-end close, journal entries, consolidations, intercompany transactions, expense accruals, and account substantiation.
• Evaluate complex accounting matters, significant transactions, new accounting standards, organizational changes, and accounting policies to ensure appropriate financial reporting treatment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to strengthen financial reporting, technical accounting, treasury operations, tax compliance, and overall accounting processes.
• Transform accounting operations through automation, system enhancements, improved internal controls, and strategic team development, including coaching, mentoring, and resource planning.
