Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking a strategic VP IT Cyber Security to safeguard systems across stores, distribution, and digital channels. You will lead cyber risk, governance, and incident response while aligning security with business goals.

You will partner with executive leaders to drive security initiatives, manage budgets, and build a high-performing cybersecurity organization focused on resilience and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive cybersecurity leadership.
• 7+ years leading enterprise security organizations.
• Previous VP Cybersecurity, CISO, or equivalent executive role desired.
• Retail or large consumer-focused business background strongly preferred.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi-year cybersecurity and information security strategies across the enterprise.
• Lead cyber risk management, regulatory readiness, security compliance, identity security, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Oversee security operations, disaster recovery, and business continuity programs; lead executive response during significant incidents.
