Job summary

Landmark Credit Union in McHenry, IL seeks a VP, Commercial Banking Officer to market and service commercial loans, deposits, and related products. You will conduct discussions with prospective and existing business members, aiming to meet sales and service goals from a centralized location serving the Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois markets.

The role requires strong credit skills, proactive relationship management, and the ability to navigate policy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years of commercial lending experience.
• Must be a credit-skilled lender with knowledge of laws and regulations governing commercial lending and the ability to underwrite loans.
• Strong sales profiling skills with a history of successful new customer generation.
• Experience or proficiency in systems used for deposit and loan products.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to use independent judgment and discretion while maintaining confidentiality.
• Familiarity with company policies and compliance with laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and manages an ongoing and proactive calling program focused on prospective business members.
• Interviews prospective members applying for commercial loans and/or business deposit services.
• Requests the appropriate financial information to underwrite loans per policy.
• Underwrites loans with the Team Lead/Underwriter or Portfolio Manager per policy.
• Attends and presents loan requests to the Commercial Loan Committee.
• Ensures documentation is complete per policy prior to loan closings and reviews documents for accuracy.
• Resolves loan exceptions promptly and monitors relationships to minimize losses.
• Mentors and trains branch staff in identifying potential business relationships.
