Columbia Bank is seeking a VP, Business Development Officer to lead strategic growth of commercial deposits and high-value relationships in the NY market. This senior role collaborates with branches, treasury, lending and COIs to deliver integrated banking solutions.

You will drive calls, manage a regional pipeline, mentor junior officers and help shape business development goals. The position follows a hybrid schedule with in-office and remote days, and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 10+ years in commercial banking, business development or related field.
• Proven track record developing high-value commercial relationships.
• Established network of Centers of Influence (COIs).
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and mentor junior officers.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and pursue new commercial deposit opportunities and expand relationships.
• Drive regional strategy for deposit growth with high-value clients.
• Collaborate with COIs, attorneys, and accountants to generate referrals.
• Partner with branches, treasury, lending and specialists to fulfill client needs.
• Build and manage a pipeline of new and expanded relationships and lending opportunities.
• Coach junior officers on deposit-focused selling and relationship management.
