Job summary

General Dynamics - IT is seeking a Virtualization Administrator/Engineer to lead the enterprise VMware environment. You will mentor the team, coordinate day-to-day work, and ensure stability, security, and performance across vCenter and ESXi hosts.

You will implement patches, automate tasks with PowerCLI, and drive proactive monitoring. Strong communication with senior stakeholders is required in this role.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of virtualization engineering experience in large enterprise environments.
• Hands-on VMware installation, configuration, and administration.
• Proficiency with PowerCLI scripting and automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead virtualization operations team, provide technical guidance and prioritization.
• Provide day-to-day support for the enterprise virtualization environment.
• Apply VMware patches, updates, and STIGs to vCenters and ESXi hosts.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and QRGs to automate tasks.
• Monitor and improve system reliability, performance, and capacity.
• Write and maintain automation scripts to streamline tasks.
• Plan server hardware/software upgrades and related projects.
