Job summary

MillenniumSoft Inc. in New Jersey seeks an experienced VMware-to-Hyper-V Migration SME or Senior Systems Engineer for a time-sensitive infrastructure transition.

A key team member has given notice, creating an immediate need for knowledge transfer and specialized migration support. You will own migration initiatives end-to-end, assess the current VMware environment, develop a phased plan to move workloads to Hyper-V, and validate compute, storage, networking, security and performance

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience administering production VMware environments (ESXi, vCenter).
• Proven ability to plan and execute VMware-to-Hyper-V migrations with minimal downtime.
• Experience building Hyper-V hosts and preparing the target environment.
• Experience migrating Windows Server workloads and validating compute, storage, networking, security, and performance.
• Strong knowledge of virtual networking, VLANs, virtual switches, storage dependencies, DNS, IP addressing.
• Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and rollback planning in virtualized environments.
• Ability to own a migration initiative and communicate with IT leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead time-sensitive VMware-to-Hyper-V migration projects.
• Assess existing VMware environments and develop phased migration plans.
• Configure Hyper-V hosts and prepare the target environment for migrated workloads.
• Migrate Windows Server workloads and validate compute, storage, networking, security, and performance post-migration.
• Develop migration runbooks, validation procedures, and handoff materials.
