Job summary

Solvo Global Inc. seeks a hands-on Windows Server/Hyper-V specialist to drive a private cloud migration from VMware to Hyper-V. This multi-site project runs through July 2027 across data centers in the US and Canada.

You will build Hyper-V clusters, plan migrations with Veeam, and optimize post-cutover workloads while coordinating with Networking and Security for DR and VLAN segmentation. We require 5+ years of experience with Windows Server/Hyper-V, VMware migration, SCVMM, AD, DNS and

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on Windows Server and virtualization experience, including production Hyper-V clusters.
Migration experience from VMware vSphere/ESXi to Hyper-V.
Working knowledge of SCVMM, Failover Clustering, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
Solid storage and networking fundamentals—FC/iSCSI SAN, VLANs, virtual switches, NIC teaming.
Veeam Backup & Replication experience; PowerShell for automation.
Troubleshooter mindset, generalist attitude, ability to explain your work to customers.

Responsibilities

Build Hyper-V hosts and failover clusters.
Deploy and manage the platform with SCVMM and Active Directory on a segmented VLAN network design.
Plan and run VMware-to-Hyper-V migrations with Veeam, from pre-migration prep through cutover.
Tune workloads after cutover (CPU, memory, power settings, security exclusions).
Work with Networking and Security on VLAN segmentation, virtual firewalls, and DR for migrated workloads.
Own the oddballs (Legacy OSes, SAP HANA) and document everything.
