Job summary

Unisys in Connecticut seeks a Principal VMware Systems Support to lead enterprise VMware administration across locations. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot VMware environments while guiding storage, databases, and networks to ensure availability.

You will drive architecture, HA designs, disaster recovery, migration plans, and runbooks. The role demands leadership of technical teams, design reviews, and alignment with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Education: BA/BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; Master’s preferred.
• Expertise in VMware systems administration and enterprise infrastructure design.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and advise on complex, business-critical issues.
• Experience with Microsoft Server, including clustering.
• Experience with Linux Servers, including clustering.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery and high availability in cloud environments—OCI and Azure.
• Certifications: VCAP, VCP, ITIL Foundation or higher.

Responsibilities

• Lead Systems Administration across the company, aligning design with business requirements.
• Assess current VMware architectures and design high-availability solutions.
• Develop migration strategies and BOMs for VMware environments.
• Provide infrastructure leadership and advisory on complex issues.
• Participate in DR design reviews and maintain related docs and runbooks.
