Job summary

Computer World Services in Hampton, VA seeks a Senior Storage and Virtualization Administrator to design, implement, and manage our storage and backup infrastructure. The role emphasizes VMware vSphere, ESXi, Dell storage, and hands-on support for high-availability environments.

You will lead installations, perform backups with Commvault, mentor teammates, and coordinate with leadership on capacity planning and upgrades. A Secret clearance is preferred; CWS is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2–4 years of related experience
• Eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Designs, monitors, maintains, and heads the engineering process of an organization’s versatile and secure information storage environment and backup solutions, such as high-capacity databases, networks, and systems
• Configures, implements, and administers storage strategies, solutions, and protocols
• Provides technical and application support and backup, evaluates capacity planning for the present and future state of storage growth
• Executes new installs, updates, and deployments, utilizing knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, computer applications, tech support, and business needs
• This position may require occasional support for business development activities
• Remote server and storage management (Preferred experience with Dell servers and storage solutions)
• Attend meetings that are required by the section
• Build, configure, and maintain virtual machines, servers, and storage solutions
• Provide diagnostics and technical resolution for any local or remote assets
• Troubleshoot and resolve trouble tickets with BMC Remedy and ServiceNow
• Provide outstanding service by interacting directly with customers seeking resolution
• Communicate issues and recommendations back to leadership in a clear and concise manner
• Document work to share with the Storage and Virtualization team
