Job summary

Kansas Health System is seeking a Database Administrator III at Broadmoor Campus to lead design, deployment, and maintenance of large databases. You will set standards for performance, data integrity, and recoverability, collaborating with Architecture, BI, and Software teams. Strong VLDB experience and leadership are essential.

You will handle on-call support, patches, backups, and high availability planning while mentoring junior staff and documenting procedures. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Twelve years of Database Administrator experience with SQL 2012-2016 in production environments or Epic Intersystems Cache.
• Experience with SQL Always On technologies.
• Experience with AIX and Windows server platforms.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and BI tools.
• Certification on SQL Server or Cache is preferred.

Responsibilities

• On-call support for Priority I and II issues.
• Install patches and upgrades to databases.
• Create and modify database objects.
• Export, Transform, and Load data (ETL).
• Monitor alerts, performance, replication, and resource usage.
• Forecast and budget database resources and licenses.
• Ensure licensing compliance and backup integrity.
• Perform backups, recoveries, and database tuning.
• Plan high availability and document changes.
