Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City is seeking a Database Administrator III for Broadmoor Campus to lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of large-scale databases and VLDB projects. You will drive standards, performance, data integrity and recoverability while collaborating with Data Architecture, BI, Software Engineering and Data Warehousing teams.

The role requires extensive SQL Server/Cache experience, Always On, AIX/Windows, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

High School Diploma and 12 years of DBA experience with SQL 2012–SQL 2016 in production.
Experience with SQL Always On technologies and with AIX/Windows server platforms.
Fluent English and knowledge of SQL BI, SSAS, SSRS or SSIS, and EPIC Chronicles.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of databases.
Develop standards and procedures to maximize performance, integrity and recoverability.
Monitor alerts, performance, replication, backups, and uptime objectives.
Plan and implement high availability; participate in change control and documentation.
Mentor and coach junior DBAs; collaborate with BI, data warehousing and software teams.
