WSP is seeking a Senior Vice President, Project & Program Management to lead mega power projects from design through construction in Maitland or Orlando, FL. You will guide multiple connected projects, manage client interests, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires 15+ years in program management, hands-on design-build utility delivery, and advanced power engineering knowledge, with a track record of large-scale public infrastructure programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
  • 15+ years of program management experience in major power projects.
  • Design-Build project delivery experience on major utility projects.
  • Experience delivering public infrastructure projects over $1 billion in cost.

Responsibilities

  • Serve in a program manager role on mega power projects through design, construction and closeout.
  • Lead delivery of multiple connected power projects to meet schedule and budget.
  • Manage client commercial interests while ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Provide independent review of project progress and perform schedule analysis.
  • Develop and maintain Project Management Plans covering controls, design, risk, safety, quality, and environment.
  • Build relationships with clients, agencies, vendors, and sub-consultants and mentor staff.

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Vice President, Project & Program Managementto work in Maitland or Orlando, FL.

Your Impact
  • Serve in a program manager role on mega power project delivered via various delivery methods
  • Lead the delivery of multiple connected power projects, through the design, construction and closeout phases
  • Manage the commercial interest of the client while driving the on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Responsible for independent review of project progress
  • Perform schedule review and analysis
  • Provide solutions to project issues
  • Review and strategize improvement to key operational performance metrics
  • Support and empower staff and direct reports to execute project assignments on time and on budget
  • Develop and maintain Project Management Plans to include Program Controls, Document Control, Design Management, Risk Management, Safety Management, Quality Control, and Environmental Compliance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients, agencies, partner firms and sub-consultants, as well as other external stakeholders such as vendors and suppliers.
  • Lead staff development which includes mentoring, training, coaching and professional development.
  • Accountable for overall management and successful execution of consultant’s contract to ensure performance and profitability.
  • Create a learning culture that values innovative subject matter expertise and fosters effective and continual personal development.
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy to increase the effectiveness of discipline-related processes, systems, and practices, and mitigating discipline-related risks.
  • Serve as program management discipline subject matter expert to a variety of internal / external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities.
  • Manage overall delivery team’s performance and provide inspiring leadership to assigned management and staff.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business and client needs.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Extensive Design-Build project delivery experience on major utility projects as a Program Manager
  • 15+ years of relevant Program Management experience, including 5+ years of experience in managing the delivery of major power projects and programs.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of public infrastructure projects, with construction costs exceeding $1 billion
  • Familiarity with major utility clients or similar agency policies and procedures
  • Proven experience in successfully managing the delivery of a major power program consisting of multiple connected projects through design and construction.
  • Advanced SME-level proficiency with power engineering principles, practices, process, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to engage at an executive level.
  • Excellent computer skills - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in the US
  • Required to be in the work location 5 days per week.
