Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Vice President, Project & Program Management to lead mega power project programs from design through closeout in Maitland or Orlando, FL. This role focuses on delivering on-time, on-budget performance and strong client relationships.

You will oversee program management plans, risk and safety processes, mentor staff, and ensure profitability of consultant contracts while advancing a learning culture and ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• 15+ years of program management experience
• 5+ years delivering major power projects
• Experience delivering public infrastructure >$1B
• Familiarity with major utility clients or agency policies
• Strong communication at executive levels; proficient MS Office

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Vice President, Project & Program Management to work in Maitland or Orlando, FL.

Your Impact

• Serve in a program manager role on mega power project delivered via various delivery methods


• Lead the delivery of multiple connected power projects, through the design, construction and closeout phases


• Manage the commercial interest of the client while driving the on-time and on-budget delivery


• Responsible for independent review of project progress


• Perform schedule review and analysis


• Provide solutions to project issues


• Review and strategize improvement to key operational performance metrics


• Support and empower staff and direct reports to execute project assignments on time and on budget


• Develop and maintain Project Management Plans to include Program Controls, Document Control, Design Management, Risk Management, Safety Management, Quality Control, and Environmental Compliance


• Develop and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients, agencies, partner firms and sub-consultants, as well as other external stakeholders such as vendors and suppliers.


• Lead staff development which includes mentoring, training, coaching and professional development.


• Accountable for overall management and successful execution of consultant’s contract to ensure performance and profitability.


• Create a learning culture that values innovative subject matter expertise and fosters effective and continual personal development.


• Develop and implement a communication strategy to increase the effectiveness of discipline-related processes, systems, and practices, and mitigating discipline-related risks.


• Serve as program management discipline subject matter expert to a variety of internal / external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities.


• Manage overall delivery team’s performance and provide inspiring leadership to assigned management and staff.


• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.


• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business and client needs.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering


• Extensive Design-Build project delivery experience on major utility projects as a Program Manager


• 15+ years of relevant Program Management experience, including 5+ years of experience in managing the delivery of major power projects and programs.


• Proven experience in the delivery of public infrastructure projects, with construction costs exceeding $1 billion


• Familiarity with major utility clients or similar agency policies and procedures


• Proven experience in successfully managing the delivery of a major power program consisting of multiple connected projects through design and construction.


• Advanced SME-level proficiency with power engineering principles, practices, process, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.


• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to engage at an executive level.


• Excellent computer skills - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint


• Ability to work in the US


• Required to be in the work location 5 days per week.
