Job summary

BNY in Pittsburgh seeks a Senior Vice President to join its Controllers team. You will lead accounting, financial reporting, governance, and control activities across multiple entities, ensuring GAAP compliance and rigorous financial processes.

You will partner with auditors and regulators, oversee month-, quarter-, and year-end closes, and drive finance transformation through analytics and automation while communicating complex matters to senior leadership and the Board.

Qualifications

• No direct reports but provides day-to-day leadership, guidance, and review of work performed by less experienced team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent education and experience).
• Accounting concentration preferred; MBA or CPA/CA or local equivalent certification preferred.
• 10–12 years of total work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting and finance concepts and analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting, financial reporting, governance, and control activities across multiple entities.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and risk management frameworks.
• Act as a trusted advisor on complex accounting, financial, and legal entity matters, including EPS, restricted stock accounting, capital transactions, dividends, and restructurings.
• Lead engagements with internal and external auditors, regulators, and key stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and oversight of month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, financial statement analysis, board reporting, management reporting, and regulatory reporting support.
• Communicate complex accounting, financial, operational, and regulatory matters to senior management and the Board of Directors.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives through the adoption of advanced analytics, automation, and AI‑enabled technologies; champion innovative solutions that improve reporting effectiveness and data quality.
