Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a Senior/Principal R&D Laboratory Support Technologist for the System-Level Vibration Testing Laboratory. You will support dynamic testing, install instrumentation, and operate data acquisition systems for challenging projects in structural dynamics.

The role requires onsite work and may involve work on nuclear deterrence systems, with a salary range reflecting experience and geographic differentials.

Qualifications

• Associate's STEM degree or equivalent with 4–8 years experience.
• Experience in laboratory testing and equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers to realize ideas and achieve project goals.
• Develop, build, modify, repair, maintain, and utilize lab equipment.
• Install instrumentation on test articles.
• Maintain and operate data acquisition systems.
• Assist with SDOF, 6DOF, and MIMO test techniques across projects.
• Assist with data analysis and interpretation of results.
• Support documentation and publication efforts for customers and papers.
• Conceive and implement new solutions to procedures.

Testing experience in a laboratory

Troubleshooting and/or repair of test/

Hazardous industrial operations

DOE Q-level security clearance

Education

Associate's degree in STEM

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (desirable)
