Long Valley Animal Hospital in Long Valley, NJ is seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgical Technician to join our compassionate team. You will work closely with veterinarians, assist in surgeries, maintain sterile instruments, and ensure high-quality patient care for our beloved pets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CVT certification or LVT license required.
• Prior leadership experience required.
• Ability to have dedicated surgery days based on hospital needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones.
• Create an environment that bolsters morale and retention of doctors and staff, with respect and kindness.
• Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy.
• Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Oversee staff to ensure shifts are staffed and that employees are competent and effective.
• Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients.
• Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions.
• Stock clinic treatment area and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered.
• Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (blood draws, surgery prep, anesthesia, monitoring, fluids).
• Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room stocked and prepared for surgery.
• Educate clients on preventive care and products we stock.
• Customer service in person and by phone, scheduling, follow-ups, and client education; Cornerstone experience a plus.
