Job summary

Rarebreed Veterinary Partners’ Long Valley Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate Lead Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Long Valley, NJ. You will ensure clients and pets feel welcome, educate clients on care, and assist with surgical prep and medical record maintenance.

The role emphasizes teamwork, high-quality care, and participation in staff scheduling and hospital operations to support our motto: Where Cold Noses Meet Warm Hearts.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least one year veterinary experience preferred.
Strong client service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Welcome clients and pets, ensuring comfort and care.
Educate clients on animal husbandry and preventive care.
Explain educational materials and answer questions under vet supervision.
Prepare patients for surgical procedures and monitor anesthesia as directed.
Collect samples (blood, urine, stool) under supervision.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist in staff scheduling.
Support hospital leadership and participate in meetings as needed.
