Job summary

Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital in Latham, NY seeks an Internal Medicine Specialist to lead advanced internal medicine cases with a strong diagnostic and collaborative approach. The role offers a competitive salary and the support of a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital network.

You will work with ultrasound, CT, and other imaging modalities, while mentoring staff and growing the service within a physician-led Ethos Veterinary Health system.

Qualifications

• Requires DVM or equivalent veterinary degree and NY licensure eligibility.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine or residency training is preferred/required.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for a team-focused practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex internal medicine cases spanning GI, hepatobiliary, infectious disease, endocrine, hematologic and respiratory conditions.
• Perform and/or order diagnostics such as ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, and CT.
• Coordinate with specialty and emergency teams on shared patients and transfers.
• Mentor technicians and assistants as part of daily case management.
• Pursue growth opportunities in ultrasound proficiency, IR procedures, and electrochemotherapy training.
