Job summary

East Los Angeles Dog and Cat Hospital in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Lead Veterinary Technician to mentor the technician and assistant team, oversee daily clinical workflow, and uphold patient safety and high-quality client care.

The ideal candidate holds an active RVT license with 3+ years’ experience, strong leadership, and proficiency in radiology, anesthesia monitoring, dental radiography, and medical records management.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician with an active license and 3+ years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong technical skills in venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, anesthesia monitoring and emergency procedures.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and supportive in high-stress situations.
• Knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and serve as a resource for technicians and assistants.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new clinical staff.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Maintain high standards for patient monitoring, comfort, and safety.
• Oversee radiology, laboratory testing, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and medication administration.
• Ensure treatment plans and estimates are properly communicated and documented.
• Manage medical records and documentation.
• Support high-stress client interactions with professionalism.
