Qualifications

• Experience in vessel hold operations and advanced cargo handling.
• Specialized training in PIT operation, cargo securing, and equipment use.
• Proficiency with forklifts, yard mules, chain saws and chop saws.
• Strong understanding of cargo stowage principles and safety standards.
• Physically capable of demanding tasks in varied environments.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Hooking on cargoes in the hold for unloading and unhooking during loading onto the vessel.
• Understanding cargo stowage, dunnage & securing requirements.
• Proficient in operating PIT's stowing cargo on the vessel - Small Forklift or Yard Mule.
• Proficient with chain & chop saws.
• Proficient in securing cargo with lashings and carpentry & safely removing lashings/securements.
• Visually inspect the lifting gear.
• Maintain a clean work area.
