Job summary

VSC Fire & Security in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking an Experienced VESDA Technician/Supervisor to lead field technicians, schedule manpower, and manage installation, testing, and maintenance of fire detection, access control, CCTV, and related systems. The role involves training staff, coordinating with design and sales, and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

Two to three years of experience installing commercial construction integrated systems.
State or local licensure where required.
Exceptional attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to multi-task.
Effectively communicate with others: including clients, co-workers, supervisors, and job site personnel regarding work procedures, schedules, complaints, and construction problems.
Monitor and enforce safety policies and procedures.
Instruct others how to install, troubleshoot, and service LV systems.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
Competence in reading and interpreting electrical plans, drawings, schematics, and specifications.

Responsibilities

Recruit, train, supervise, evaluate, discipline, and terminate field employees.
Monitor work schedules, safety, and approve documentation for payroll and work-related incidents.
Identify individuals with potential, encourage apprenticeship and NICET training.
Coordinate with Design, Sales, and Purchasing for pre-construction, installation, and close-out phases.
Maintain communication with owners, representatives, and other contractors regarding schedules and progress.
Visit sites to check progress and fulfill contractual commitments.
Coordinate safety training and ensure compliance with safety standards.
