Job summary

Consor is seeking a seasoned Vertical Building Construction Manager to plan, coordinate, and deliver complex high‑rise projects in the San Francisco area. You will serve as the integration hub for owners, design‑build teams, trades, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure safety, schedule adherence, cost control, and quality.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a construction discipline and 10+ years of experience across varied vertical projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum ten years of experience managing commercial, residential, mixed‑use, healthcare, higher education, or high‑rise vertical building projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Field job with outdoor work environments and potential exposure to weather and hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, local building codes, permits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams while fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Ensure construction activities are properly integrated across multiple project phases.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with phased occupancy, logistical constraints, and ongoing site operations.
  • Monitor schedule performance and identify critical path activities.
  • Evaluate potential delays and implement recovery plans when necessary.
  • Monitor contractor performance for safety, quality, productivity, and compliance.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify project progress.
  • Coordinate resolution of field issues, design conflicts, and unforeseen conditions.
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are implemented throughout construction.
