Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Vehicle Engineering Labs Engineering Technician to support operations and maintenance of vehicle testing facilities, with a strong focus on continuous improvement of testing and maintenance processes. This role includes daily operations support and customer coordination across multiple prototype programs.

You will install instrumentation, test equipment, and other components on prototype vehicles in alignment with engineering specs, and you will plan preventive maintenance

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years of automotive- or aerospace-related testing experience.
• Experience operating and maintaining climate chamber and chassis dynamometer facilities strongly preferred.
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with automotive and electrified powertrain vehicles preferred.
• Fabrication, wiring, and building control system troubleshooting experience
• A proven track record of problem-solving and independent root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to produce clear, organized, and timely documentation.
• Team-oriented mindset.
• Strong interest in automotive technology.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of testing facilities.
• Develop, document, and implement testing and maintenance procedures in compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements.
• Install instrumentation, test equipment, and other components on prototype vehicles in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, and/or test procedures
• Provide daily operational and test execution support across multiple facilities.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities.
