Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Vehicle Engineering Labs Engineering Technician in Irvine, CA, to support operations and maintenance of vehicle testing facilities, coordinating with customers and sustaining improvements. This role emphasizes daily operations, test execution, and process enhancement.

You will install equipment on prototype vehicles, document procedures, and ensure compliance with EHS standards while contributing to ongoing quality and efficiency in Rivian's testing programs.

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years of automotive- or aerospace-related testing experience.
• Experience operating and maintaining climate chamber and chassis dynamometer facilities.
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with automotive and electrified powertrain vehicles preferred.
• Fabrication, wiring, and building control system troubleshooting experience.
• A proven track record of problem-solving and independent root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to produce clear, organized, and timely documentation.
• Team-oriented mindset.
• Strong interest in automotive technology.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of testing facilities.
• Develop, document, and implement testing and maintenance procedures in compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements.
• Install instrumentation, test equipment, and other components on prototype vehicles in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, and/or test procedures.
• Provide daily operational and test execution support across multiple facilities.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities.
