Job summary

Danfoss Power Solutions in Ames, IA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design vehicle system architectures and develop control strategies for electrification, decarbonization, autonomy, and productivity in mobile machinery.

You will work from concept to launch with global teams, using C, MATLAB/Simulink, model-based tools, and PLUS+1 GUIDE to create robust software and system designs. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural, or related Engineering field.
• 3–5 years of experience in systems, controls, software, hydraulics, mechatronics, electronics, or related disciplines.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop vehicle system architectures addressing customer needs and challenges.
• Evaluate concepts from functional, safety, performance and cost perspectives.
• Develop control strategies using hydraulics, electronics, software and mechatronics.
• Create and validate vehicle software with C, MATLAB/Simulink, and PLUS+1 GUIDE.
• Model and simulate vehicle systems and document results.
