Job summary

Nissan in Farmington Hills, MI, is seeking a Senior VPM Engineer to lead cross-cultural program development and ensure key milestones in vehicle projects are met. The role requires hands-on automotive engineering experience and strong leadership to drive schedules, budgets, and cross-department collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Engineering, 5+ years in related engineering, and proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
Minimum of 5 years of professional-level experience in a related engineering discipline.
Hands-on background in the automotive industry.
Firm understanding of automotive technology and engineering practices.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Lead cross-cultural program development activities to ensure milestones and vehicle Quality/Cost/Timing are met.
Develop project schedules and manage the critical path.
Monitor metrics and present decision-ready issues to the chief engineer.
Serve as liaison between engineering and outside organizations (manufacturing, marketing, product planning).
Ensure the project stays on schedule and budget.
Work cross-functionally and cross-culturally within Nissan.
