Job summary

Rimkus seeks an experienced Vehicle Collision Reconstructionist to investigate, analyze, and reconstruct motor vehicle collisions and prepare defensible expert opinions for litigation. The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years of experience, strong technical writing, and can clearly communicate findings to clients, attorneys, and juries.

Required are a PE license, ACTAR certification, a B.S. in Engineering, and a FAA Part 107 drone certificate, with up to 25% travel for field work and testimony.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or related).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with state licensure.
• ACTAR certification required.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate for drone operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed reconstruction of single- and multi-vehicle collisions using engineering principles and CAE-based tools.
• Conduct field investigations, including collision scene inspections and forensic mapping/documentation.
• Inspect and analyze passenger vehicles, commercial motor vehicles, and mechanical systems as needed.
• Download, image, and analyze electronic data from ECMs, EDRs, ACMs.
