The role:

As a Senior VDC Engineer specializing in mechanical and/or piping, you will apply your technical skills across various projects and contribute to thought leadership in BIM and VDC. Your responsibilities include ensuring plumbing and/or mechanical projects for trade contractors incorporate BIM processes from schematic design through construction. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and is passionate about developing and implementing innovative BIM processes with dispersed teams.

In this role, you will:

1. Lead global project management of VDC/BIM projects independently.
2. Serve as a specialist in plumbing and/or mechanical areas.
3. Act as a primary client interface, building relationships, presenting work, and conducting meetings.
4. Manage RFIs and the submittal process.
5. Coordinate and lead global project teams to complete client work.
6. Create and manage complex design projects within Revit, Navisworks, Procore, BIM360, etc.
7. Participate in and lead training efforts, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.
8. Engage in projects beyond plumbing/mechanical to expand your expertise.

Apply if you have:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience supporting BIM and VDC implementation, training, and support.
• 3+ years of experience working with plumbing and/or mechanical trade contractors.
• Experience in coordinating BIM updates, clash detection, and communicating results.
• Proficiency in modeling, drafting, drawing, and reading mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.
• Strong project management, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to work some early/late hours for international coordination.

Even better if you have:

• Field construction experience.
• Experience leading online meetings and training via platforms like Asana.
• Involvement in project administration: invoicing, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting.
• Knowledge of other building systems and their assembly sequences.
• Experience managing BIM and VDC throughout a project lifecycle.
• Understanding of the real-world constructability of modeled systems.
• A portfolio of work to share.
• Proven remote team management experience.
• Background in providing professional client services.
• Experience with AutoCAD MEP and Fabrication CADMEP software.

Compensation and benefits:

• Salary range: $90,000 to $110,000, with potential bonuses. Actual offer depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
• Health insurance options covering 70-95% of premiums for VIATechies and 65% for dependents.
• Dental and vision insurance, covering up to 75% of premiums for VIATechies and 50% for dependents.
