The role:

As a Senior VDC Engineer specializing in mechanical and/or piping, you'll apply your technical and engineering skills across various projects and contribute to thought leadership in BIM and VDC.

This includes ensuring plumbing and/or mechanical projects for trade contractors incorporate BIM processes from schematic design through construction. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and is passionate about developing and implementing innovative BIM processes across dispersed teams.

In this role, you will:

• Lead global project management of VDC/BIM projects, planning and progressing projects independently
• Serve as a specialist in plumbing and/or mechanical areas
• Act as a primary interface to clients, building relationships, presenting work, and conducting meetings
• Respond to RFIs and manage the RFI process
• Coordinate and lead global project teams to complete client work
• Create and manage complex design projects within Revit, Navisworks, Procore, BIM360, and other tools
• Participate in and lead training efforts, fostering a culture of professional development
• Expand knowledge by engaging in projects outside your focus area

Apply if you have:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline
• 3+ years of experience in BIM and VDC implementation, training, and support
• 3+ years working with plumbing and/or mechanical trade contractors
• Experience in BIM coordination, clash detection, and stakeholder communication
• Proficiency in modeling, drafting, and reading mechanical and plumbing plans
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, self-directed environment
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills for managing multiple projects
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
• A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to work early/late hours for global coordination

Even better if you have:

• Field construction experience
• Experience leading remote meetings and training via platforms like Asana
• Experience in project administration: invoicing, budgeting, scheduling, and forecasting
• Knowledge of other building systems and their construction sequences
• Experience managing BIM/VDC across project lifecycles
• Understanding of the real-world constructability of modeled systems
• A portfolio of work to share
• Proven remote team management skills
• Background in providing professional client services
• Experience with AutoCAD MEP and/or Fabrication CADMEP

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary range: $90,000 to $110,000, with potential bonuses. Final offer depends on skills, experience, and location.
• Health insurance options covering 70-95% of premiums for VIATechnik and 65% for dependents.
• Dental and vision insurance, with coverage up to 75% of premiums for VIATechnik and 50% for dependents.
