The role:

As a Senior VDC Engineer specializing in mechanical and/or piping areas, you'll apply your technical and engineering skills across various projects and contribute to thought leadership in BIM and VDC.

This involves ensuring plumbing and/or mechanical projects for trade contractors incorporate BIM processes from schematic design through construction. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and is passionate about developing and implementing innovative BIM processes across dispersed teams.

In this role, you will:

1. Lead global project management of VDC/BIM projects proactively and independently.
2. Serve as a specialist in plumbing and/or mechanical areas.
3. Act as the primary interface to clients, maintaining relationships, presenting work, and conducting meetings.
4. Respond to RFIs and manage the RFI process.
5. Coordinate and lead global project teams to complete client work.
6. Create and manage complex design projects within Revit, Navisworks, Procore, BIM360, and other tools.
7. Participate in and lead training efforts, fostering a culture of professional development.
8. Engage in projects beyond plumbing/mechanical focus to expand your knowledge.

Apply if you have:

1. A bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or similar.
2. At least 3 years of experience in BIM and VDC implementation, training, and support.
3. At least 3 years of experience working with plumbing and/or mechanical trade contractors.
4. Experience in coordinating BIM updates, clash detection, and communicating results.
5. Proficiency in modeling, drafting, and reading mechanical and plumbing plans.
6. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.
7. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills for managing multiple projects.
8. Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
9. A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to work early/late hours to coordinate internationally.

Even better if you have:

1. Field construction experience.
2. Experience leading remote meetings and training via platforms like Asana.
3. Experience in project administration: invoicing, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting.
4. Knowledge of other building systems (foundations, structure, electrical, fire protection, etc.).
5. Experience managing BIM and VDC across project lifecycles.
6. Understanding of real-world constructability of modeled systems.
7. A portfolio of work to share.
8. Proven remote team management experience.
9. Background providing professional client services.
10. Experience with AutoCAD MEP and/or Fabrication CADMEP.

Compensation and benefits:

• Salary range: $90,000 to $110,000, with potential bonuses. Actual offer depends on skills, experience, and location.
