The role:

As a Senior VDC Engineer specializing in mechanical and/or piping, you will apply your technical and engineering skills across various projects and contribute to thought leadership in BIM and VDC. Your responsibilities include ensuring plumbing and/or mechanical projects incorporate BIM processes from schematic design through construction. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and is passionate about developing and implementing innovative BIM processes across dispersed teams.

In this role, you will:

• Lead global project management of VDC/BIM projects, planning and advancing projects independently
• Serve as a specialist in plumbing and/or mechanical areas
• Act as the primary client interface, cultivating relationships and presenting work
• Respond to RFIs and manage the RFI process
• Coordinate and lead global project teams to complete client work
• Create and manage complex design projects within Revit, Navisworks, Procore, BIM360, and other tools
• Participate in and lead training efforts to foster professional development
• Engage in projects beyond plumbing/mechanical to expand knowledge

Apply if you have:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience in BIM and VDC implementation, training, and support
• At least 3 years of experience working with plumbing and/or mechanical trade contractors
• Experience in BIM updates, clash detection, and stakeholder communication
• Proficiency in modeling, drafting, and reading mechanical and plumbing plans
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, self-directed environment
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills for multiple projects
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specs, and contracts
• A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to work some early/late hours for international coordination

Preferred qualifications:

• Field construction experience
• Experience leading remote meetings and training via platforms like Asana
• Involvement in project administration: invoicing, budgeting, scheduling, forecasting
• Knowledge of other building systems and their assembly processes
• Experience managing BIM/VDC throughout project lifecycle
• Understanding of the real-world constructability of modeled systems
• A portfolio of work to share
• Proven remote team management skills
• Client service experience
• Experience with AutoCAD MEP or Fabrication CADMEP

Compensation and benefits:

• Salary range: $90,000 to $110,000, with potential bonuses, based on skills, experience, and location
• Health insurance options with coverage of 70-95% of premiums for employees and 65% for dependents
