Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a BIM/VDC Manager to lead Digital Engineering, Virtual Design & Construction, and Digital Delivery across multiple large projects within our Mission Critical vertical.

You will drive digital strategy, execute BIM plans, and coordinate with design partners, trade contractors, and vendors to ensure compliant, actionable deliverables and successful turnover to owners.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in an accredited industry related curriculum.
• Minimum 5-10 years of VDC related design and/or construction experience.
• Proven success leading VDC on multiple projects, XL project experience preferred.
• Understand construction techniques and ability to identify coordination issues.
• Strong written and oral communication; capable of teaching and presentations.
• Proficient with 3D parametric modeling and model coordination; quantify takeoffs and clash detection.
• Hands-on experience with laser scanning, photogrammetry and UAV operations.
• FAA Part 107 certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead Digital Engineering, VDC, and Digital Delivery across multiple projects.
• Develop project-specific digital delivery strategy and BIM execution plans.
• Drive coordination with stakeholders, including clash detection and meetings.
• Manage delivery of digital scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Create dashboards, schedules, and coordination documents for visibility.
• Support 3D/4D/5D/6D/7D model-based workflows from preconstruction to turnover.
• Develop site logistics, sequencing, and safety models from field data.
• Support constructability reviews and model-based planning.
• Track design changes and RFIs affecting delivery.
• Guide field digital workflows: layout, laser scanning, drone capture, and as-builts.
• Ingest scan data into workflows for QA, progress, and turnover readiness.
• Perform field 3D capture using laser scanners for BIM development.
