Job summary

The Appraisal Manager at Bank of the Sierra oversees the real estate valuation program to ensure compliance with FIRREA, USPAP, and Interagency guidelines. You will manage appraisal ordering, vendor oversight, quality control, and independence to support prudent credit risk management.

You will lead an independent panel of contract appraisers, supervise staff, and coordinate with lending, credit administration, regulators, and senior management on appraisal-related issues.

Qualifications

• Certified General Real Property Appraiser license required; MAI or similar designation desirable.
• Bachelor's degree and at least seven years in appraisal, appraisal review, or collateral risk management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely ordering and delivery of real estate appraisals, evaluations, and environmental reports.
• Oversee independent reviews for commercial, industrial, agricultural, and residential appraisals to verify compliance.
• Resolve valuation disputes and coordinate second appraisals when deficiencies are identified.
• Review, update, and implement appraisal and environmental report policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Recruit, onboard, and monitor an independent panel of contract appraisers.
