Job summary

Hyve Solutions in Fremont, CA seeks a Server Design Validation Engineer Level IV to lead the validation of AI compute server hardware and firmware. You will act as a senior contributor with technical leadership for the US Design Validation team, ensuring stable, fast, and reliable servers and driving issue disposition across CPU, memory, GPU, and power systems.

You will write automated Python scripts, work with thermal and mechanical teams, and bring up new server platforms in the lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of server validation or hardware testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of x86 server architecture and chipsets; hands-on with test tools.
• Experience with BIOS, UEFI and server management software.
• Proficiency in Python or C++ for test automation.
• Root-cause analysis for hardware failures.
• Knowledge of PCIe, DDR memory and Ethernet networking.

Server Design Validation Engineer Level IV

Key Responsibilities

• Data Center Server Design Validation Senior Lead Engineer tests and verifies server hardware, firmware, and systems. This is an individual contributor role but will provide technical leadership to the rest of the US Design Validation team. This person will lead the testing effort for the next-generation AI compute hardware
  • will make sure servers are stable, fast, and reliable
  • champion of the test requirement document, and issue disposition of AI compute platform, CPU features, memory, GPU, and power systems.
  • Find, log, and track hardware and firmware bugs
  • Write automated scripts in Python to speed up testing.
  • Work with thermal and mechanical teams to check system limits.
  • Help bring up new server platforms in the lab.
• Key member of the System integration test team to drive execution excellence and deliver validation completion per customer schedule commitment. Support test automation, verification and debugging of Data center AI compute system issues across board level to server and to rack stack. Collaborate with design teams and component partners to drive complex issues to closure
• Will interact directly with design partners for provisioning, co-debugging and technical support, and a variety of customer service issues including Tier 3 manufacturing escalation response and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 or more years of server validation or hardware testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of x86 server architecture and chipsets. Hands-on skills with test tools like oscilloscope, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.

• Good coding skills in Python or C++ for test automation.
