Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a disciplined Air Vehicle Operator to perform production acceptance flights and system validation for unmanned aircraft. The role requires strong aviation judgment, adherence to procedures, and coordination with flight-test teams across engineering and production during fast-paced operations.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work in austere environments, document discrepancies, and maintain safety standards.

Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret DoD security clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for CONUS/OCONUS events.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Air Vehicle Operator during production, acceptance, regression, and troubleshooting flights.
• Safely operate the aircraft per procedures and test cards.
• Conduct mission planning, preflight prep, and postflight activities.
• Review aircraft records, configurations, weather, airspace and risk before flight.
• Coordinate with flight test engineers, maintainers, and production staff.
