Shield AI is seeking a Senior Associate V-BAT Operator to support field integration and flight operations across CONUS/OCONUS environments. The role involves site surveys, installations, calibration events, and customer handoff activities in coordination with Engineering and Customer Operations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated instructor experience in manned or unmanned aviation.
• FAA Private Pilot License (PPL) required.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required.
• Ability to obtain FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret DoD security clearance.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% for CONUS/OCONUS site surveys, installs, calibrations, and operations.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in confined or tight spaces.
• Proven ability to lead and operate independently in austere, shipboard, expeditionary, and high-tempo environments.
• Strong aviation judgment, decision-making, and risk management skills.

Responsibilities

• Field integration support: surveys, installations, calibrations, aircraft checks, and customer handoff with safe V-BAT operations.
• Lead flight operations and field events with autonomy and disciplined risk management.
• Troubleshoot aircraft, payloads, ground systems, datalinks, LAN/MANET, RF, SATCOM, and support equipment in field conditions.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with FIT, Deployment Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Training, Customer Operations and customers to drive readiness.
• Instructor and mentorship: train, evaluate, and develop operators while enforcing standards and safe practices.
