Job summary

Airbnb, Inc. is seeking an accomplished UX Writer to shape AI-powered copy across products and experiences. You’ll lead wording for multiple projects, including training large language models to generate copy that is clear, consistent, and on-brand for hosts and guests.

You will partner with Design, PM, Legal, localization, and engineering to define content standards, evaluate model outputs, and iterate toward the best user experience, while presenting work to directors and executives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in UX writing, content design, or content strategy.
• Proven ability to lead content/copy work from concept to detailed design.
• Experience in LLM prompting, generative AI, and model evaluation, with a point of view on training writing quality into a model.
• Proven systems thinking and product strategy.
• Experience building systems—guidelines, reference examples, evals—that scale across a team.
• Experience writing content principles, messaging frameworks, and style guides, and adapting them into guidelines a model can be trained and evaluated against.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in all stages of design and build.
• Proven ability to lead systems work from concept to detailed design, including defining net-new process where none exists.
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with the flexibility to adjust course as models and priorities shift.
• Familiar working alongside other design disciplines in Figma, our primary collaboration tool.
• Experience working with and presenting to executive teams.
• Solid understanding of user experience design principles and interaction patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead all work related to the words across multiple projects within a single initiative—creating copy for surfaces and training models that generate copy.
• Develop inspiring, strategic ideas based on product requirements, data, and/or research.
• Set the quality bar for AI-generated content: write guidelines, grade model outputs, calibrate evals.
• Drive consensus with stakeholders on content recommendations.
• Manage copy deadlines and deliver copy across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with Design, PM, Legal, accessibility, and localization for input on work.
• Join writing team crits and present work to leadership.
• Set the bar on every surface with judgment and taste.
