Job summary

Airbnb seeks an experienced UX Writer to join our global design team. You will conceptualize, shape content and product strategy, and codify our messaging for Hosts and Guests.

You will lead content work from concept to detailed design, present to executives, and collaborate with cross-functional partners including accessibility, legal, localization, and design. This is a remote-eligible role across the United States.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of UX writing, content design, or content strategy.
• Lead content work from concept to detailed design.
• Experience presenting to executive teams.
• Experience writing content principles, messaging frameworks, and style guides.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in all stages design & build.
• Solid understanding of user experience design principles.
• Independent work style in a fast-paced environment.

• Comfortable working with Figma as a collaboration tool.

UX Writing is a core design discipline at Airbnb. Our team of 40+ writers works closely with Experience Design, Experience Research, and Design Program Management to support the product development process from beginning to end. The UX writers on the Host team strive to inspire and empower everyday people to live richer lives by hosting on Airbnb. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to conceptualize new products, shape content and product strategy, and codify our messaging. The Host team’s collective goal is to grow, support, and retain our Host community.

A Typical Day:

• Write clear and concise copy across multiple product touchpoints
• Lead content work across multiple projects within a single initiative

• Present content and design work to directors, executives, or other stakeholders on your projects

• Connect with our critical cross-functional partners—accessibility, anti-discrimination, legal, localization—to ensure we have the proper input on our work
• Join writing team crits to present work and help sharpen the work of your teammates

Your Expertise:

• 10+ years of experience in UX writing, content design, or content strategy
• Proven ability to lead content/copy work from concept to detailed design
• Experience working with and presenting to executive teams
• Experience writing content principles, messaging frameworks, and style guides
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in all stages design & build
• Solid understanding of user experience design principles and interaction patterns
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to move work forward in an ambiguous work environment
• Comfortable working alongside other design disciplines in Figma, our primary collaboration tool

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

Pay Range

$180,000—$223,000 USD
