Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior UX Researcher in New York, NY to lead research across LearnX, Gemini, NotebookLM, Labs, and YouTube, shaping product opportunities and strategy. You will conduct field studies, interviews, diary studies, surveys, and usability testing to uncover user needs and guide design decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in an applied research setting or similar.
• Experience with research methods (usability, studies, contextual inquiries, interviews, un moderated studies).
• Master's or PhD in HCI, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field (preferred).
• 5 years of UX research with executive leadership experience (preferred).
• Experience with large-scale surveys design and analysis (preferred).
• Experience with educational products (preferred).
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (preferred).
• Excellent people management, communication, and collaboration skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead research to identify product opportunities for LearnX across Gemini, NotebookLM, Labs and YouTube.
• Drive a continuous research program informing product innovation teams.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, engineers and other teams to inform product decisions.
• Organize research events and design sprints; communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Mentor team members and advocate for a user-focused perspective in planning.
