Job summary

IBM in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Designer to shape user experiences across a major product line. You will work with product stakeholders, translating business goals into user-centered solutions and mentoring junior designers in design thinking and agile practices.

The role requires a Master’s degree or equivalent and at least one year of UX design experience using Sketch/Figma/Adobe XD, UX research methods, Mural/Miro, JIRA/Airtable, Agile/Scrum, InVision and Design Systems.

Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Graphic Design or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree).
One year of experience as a UX Designer or related role.
Experience must include utilizing Sketch/Figma/Adobe XD, UX Research methodologies (usability testing/interviews), Mural/Miro, JIRA/Airtable, Agile/Scrum, InVision, Design Systems.

Responsibilities

Manage project engagements including deliverables (concepts, wireframes, interactive prototypes), engagement agreements and timelines.
Design user experiences with stakeholders to meet product goals and advocate user-centered design.
Translate business requirements to end-user needs and create differentiated design solutions.
Mentor junior designers and lead design thinking and agile methodologies.
Direct UX design direction for a major product line.
Create wireframes and interactive prototypes for large/complex web and mobile apps.
Lead usability research including tests, surveys, persona development with target users.
