Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior UX Designer in Seattle to lead the design of innovative North American Stores experiences. You will craft end-to-end user-centric solutions across desktop and mobile, guiding teams through ideation, discovery, and reviews to align with product strategy.

You will collaborate with executives to shape design strategy, mentor colleagues, and navigate ambiguity while delivering best-in-class experiences for a diverse product range.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience.
• Have an online portfolio or samples on resume showing end-to-end UX design across desktop and mobile.
• Knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
• Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards.
• Experience acquiring user data through usability studies and user research; create personas and journey maps.
• Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar.
• Experience with multiple cycles of platform or product design.

Responsibilities

• Design the user experience of key features for North American Stores categories.
• Create solutions for complex problems where product strategy is not fully defined.
• Create sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes using AI tools.
• Collaborate across diverse teams to drive alignment and efficiency.
• Develop and improve design patterns, standards, and processes that scale for the team.
• Lead brainstorming sessions and cross-team reviews to drive design decisions.
• Synthesize data (metrics, usability studies) to inform product-level decisions.
• Work with engineering to integrate capabilities and constraints of the tech stack.
• Balance short- and long-term design requirements against engineering constraints.
