Job summary

Allegion is hiring a Senior Lead Engineer, UWB Solutions to lead a cross-functional team in advancing Ultra-Wideband technology for secure access systems. You will shape the roadmap, guide hardware, firmware, and algorithms, and drive rigorous testing from lab to field across a global organization.

You will collaborate with product and engineering units, drive innovations, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor engineers in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
• 10+ years of wireless/RF technology development, with a strong background in UWB, radar, and/or secure communication systems
• Proven leadership experience in leading high-performing technical teams
• Expertise in RF hardware design, signal processing, embedded firmware and systems, and security protocols
• Experience with regulatory compliance, standards development, and industry engagement (e.g., FCC, IEEE, CSA, FiRa)
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement R&D or technology innovation programs
• Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex software and hardware systems
• Basic knowledge of C, C++, and Python programming languages
• In office collaboration 4 days a week on average

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership: contribute to the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Allegion’s UWB technology program.
• Team-building: lead a multidisciplinary hardware/firmware team and foster talent development.
• Technical oversight: guide UWB hardware/firmware design, antenna systems, and secure protocols.
• Algorithm innovation: oversee localization, intent detection, and sensor fusion projects.
• Data management: establish data pipelines to capture and analyze sensor data.
• Standards & compliance: ensure regulatory and standards compliance (IEEE 802.15.4z etc.).
• Testing & validation: create robust testing frameworks and real-world validation.
• Infrastructure: build and operate a UWB lab for simulations and measurements.
• Continuous improvement: promote knowledge sharing and industry monitoring.
• Stakeholder engagement: partner with product, engineering, and business teams.
