Job summary

Bituminous Roadways, Inc. seeks an experienced General Utility Superintendent to lead the Utility Division across sewer, water, and underground projects in the Twin Cities metro.

You will drive safety, quality, productivity, and profitability while mentoring Superintendents and Foremen to build the next generation of leaders. You will collaborate with PM, Estimating, Equipment, Safety, and Paving teams to ensure on-time delivery and budget adherence, fostering a culture of accountability and

Qualifications

• 10+ years of underground utility or heavy civil construction experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing multiple crews, projects, or field leaders.
• Strong knowledge of sewer, water, storm sewer, excavation, trench safety, and utility construction.
• Ability to read construction plans, specifications, and schedules.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to local jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall performance of the Utility Division.
• Establish clear expectations for safety, quality, scheduling, and production.
• Drive accountability and continuous improvement across multiple projects and crews.
• Oversee utility construction operations from project startup through completion.
• Direct workforce planning, crew structure, equipment utilization, and resource allocation.
• Support project planning, constructability reviews, sequencing, and risk management.
• Coordinate closely with field and office teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Manage division-level profitability and operational efficiency.
• Review production, labor, equipment, and job cost performance.
• Identify trends, solve challenges proactively, and implement corrective action when needed.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop Utility Superintendents, Foremen, and future leaders.
