Job summary

Vallecitos Water District seeks an experienced Financial Analyst to conduct complex rate studies, financial projections, and budgeting support. The role analyzes water and sewer rates, develops data-driven recommendations, and prepares regulatory reports for Board and agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, statistics, economics, business or public administration.
• Four years of auditing or financial analysis experience, preferably for a public agency.
• Desirable CMA or CFA certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex financial, rate, and budget analyses and prepare reports for board and agencies.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze financial models and data sources for rate studies.
• Prepare regulatory reports and board presentations with clear findings.
• Assist with planning, coordination of budgeting, collections, and financing activities.
• Monitor compliance with bond indentures, contracts, and regulations.
