Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is seeking an experienced Senior Utility Coordinator / Business Development Manager to lead Florida utility coordination and grow the firm’s utility practice.

This seller-doer role leverages FDOT expertise to win work and expand relationships with FDOT, UAOs, municipalities, and transportation partners. You will identify opportunities, develop scopes, and manage coordination, permitting, and construction services while mentoring staff and driving revenue growth

Qualifications

• 10 years of FDOT utility coordination experience.
• Proven business development and client-relations skills.
• Strong communication, negotiation and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead utility coordination on FDOT and municipal projects across Florida.
• Manage relocation schedules, agreements and reimbursement processes.
• Interpret plans, agreements and schedules per FDOT standards.
• Lead meetings, mentor staff, and ensure QA/QC on deliverables.
• Build relationships with FDOT districts, UAOs and stakeholders.
• Identify and win new utility coordination and permitting opportunities.
• Lead proposals, scopes, and fee negotiations; manage pipeline.
• Represent GFY at conferences and support growth plans.
• Develop scopes, budgets, and oversee delivery, billing, and contracts.
