Job summary

On Target is seeking a Safety Specialist for our Gardiner, ME location to support and enforce occupational safety programs across utility construction and maintenance services. You will work with the Safety & Workforce Development Manager to interpret standards, develop training, perform risk analyses, and coordinate safety initiatives to promote a culture of safety while ensuring productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety-related field preferred; HS diploma acceptable with experience.
• 4–6 years in corporate safety or leadership roles.
• First Aid/CPR/AED skills and training ability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of safety standards/codes for utility construction.
• Collaborate with Safety & Workforce Development Manager on standards and policies.
• Conduct safety trainings and coach employees on safety initiatives.
• Assist with safety audits, incident investigations, inspections, and reporting.
• Support development and implementation of safety training programs.
