Job summary

Oxford Utilities seeks an Accounting Supervisor to oversee accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting for the Electric and Water Division. The role reports to the General Manager and supervises one full-time employee, with regular daytime hours and occasional overtime.

The successful candidate will maintain general ledger integrity, prepare ledgers and reports, coordinate with TVA and state/federal agencies, and assist auditors during annual audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• At least two years of experience as an Accountant in a utility setting is strongly recommended.
• Prefer prior supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Remits monthly utility revenues to City departments.
• Prepares detailed monthly billings per TVA Joint Cost Study.
• Ensures compliance with state/federal reporting requirements (PERS, payroll, etc.).
• Maintains general ledger per TVA contract and FERC U.S.O.A rules.
• Prepares and posts general ledger entries; reconciles subsidiary ledgers.
• Assists auditors during annual audits for the Electric and Water Division.
