Job summary

Amgen is hiring a Senior Maintenance Technician Utilities Day Shift in North Carolina. You will provide technical expertise to start up the plant utilities and oversee daily operations on a Monday–Friday schedule (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM).

The role requires strong knowledge of plant utility equipment such as steam, chilled water, HVAC, WFI, and related systems, with a focus on safety, GMP compliance, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of Utility Operations or Maintenance experience, or an Associate degree with 6 months of experience.
• 5+ years knowledge of plant utility equipment and systems (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air compressors).
• 3+ years knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience in a cGMP or other highly regulated environment.
• Experience executing and documenting maintenance work orders in a CMMS.
• Ability to interpret P&ID's.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, testing and documentation of process and utility equipment.
• Support start-up of plant utilities and daily operations.
• Coordinate with maintenance service providers and equipment vendors.
• Complete quality and safety documentation and ensure work is safe, compliant and timely.
• Communicate work status to system operators and stakeholders.
• Review maintenance reports and identify improvement opportunities.
