Job summary

Lilly Medicine Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana is seeking a Senior Utilities Operator. This self-directed role requires managing multiple utility systems (water, steam, compressed air, cooling, waste streams) with minimal supervision, while adhering to GMP and EH&S standards.

The position emphasizes training other operators, safety, and continuous improvement, with shifts on a 12-hour schedule and potential travel to sister plant for training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in utilities, industrial, or mechanical operations; GMP pharma experience preferred.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing to overtime and respond to call-ins.
• Must lift up to 40 pounds and work at heights.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain all assigned utility systems with minimal oversight.
• Maintain housekeeping standards across utility operations and address cleanliness issues.
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment and process issues, communicating findings to supervision.
• Support training and development of Operators by sharing knowledge and procedures.
• Propose continuous improvement ideas and raise safety concerns for follow-up.
• Follow SOPs, GMP requirements, and EH&S protocols with accurate logging.
