Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Utilities Maintenance Technician to support a premier pharmaceutical R&D facility in Groton, CT. The role focuses on maintaining central power plant and utility systems critical to manufacturing, labs, and research activities.

Work includes troubleshooting, predictive and preventive maintenance, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities cover boilers, chillers, pumps, valves, steam systems, feedwater, cooling towers, and gas systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
• 5–7 years of hands-on maintenance in central utility plants or pharmaceutical/biotech utilities.
• Experience with high-pressure boilers, turbines, chillers, pumps, and related utility equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex industrial mechanical systems (boilers, turbines, chillers).
• Perform preventive maintenance per CMMS schedules (lubrication, filter changes, bearings).
• Conduct predictive maintenance using vibration, thermography, ultrasound, and oil analysis.
• Maintain CMMS records with findings, parts, labor, failure codes, and actions.
• Respond to emergencies to minimize downtime and coordinate with stakeholders.
